Congratulations to Air Canada for their current #MakeAmazing ad campaign. Watching those well-crafted TV spots brings attention to all the real people behind the scenes who orchestrate the massive operation of running an airline successfully and well.
One of the biggest challenges for people who feel afraid of flying is the tendency to hyper-focus on their own fears and worries, meaning that they miss seeing the many other details that might provide reassurance. As a result, frightened people usually feel alone with their fear, which makes it all seem that much worse. Knowing that others are around, ‘real’ people who care and have dreams and wants and histories and families and plans of their own can often help a fearful flyer to find some comfort, even when they feel afraid.
